
1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these terms and conditions. Acceptance of a prize is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
2. The Promoter is Choice Hotels Australasia Pty Ltd (ABN 41 081 959 891) of 150 Jolimont Road, East Melbourne, VIC, 3002, (03) 9243 2400 (Promoter).
3. The promotion commences at 12:01am (AEST) on Wednesday, 10th March 2010 and closes at 11.59pm (AEST) on Friday 10th December 2010 (Promotion Period).
4. Subject to paragraph 6, entrants must be aged 18 years or more (Eligible Entrants).
5. Eligible Entrants will receive entry into the competition by:
a. Joining via a Choice Privileges application form at any Choice hotels throughout Australia or join via www.choicehotels.com.au, between the promotional period 10th March 2010 – 10th December 2010.
b. Once joined, entrants will instantly go into the draw and be eligible to win.
6. To enter the competition, Eligible Entrants must:
a. Be an Australian or New Zealand resident only.
b. Have joined the Choice Privileges program during the promotional period: 10th March 2010 – 10th December 2010.
7. The Promoter will not be responsible for any late, lost or misdirected entries.
8. Directors, management, employees and their families of the promoter, each of their related bodies corporate are not eligible to enter this promotion.
9. All entries will go into a national draw for the 1 Million Point major prize, to be conducted by the Promoter on 17th December 2010 at the offices of Choice Hotels Australasia Pty Ltd, 150 Jolimont Road, East Melbourne, VIC, 3002, Victoria, Australia at 3:00pm (AEDT). The winners will be notified by phone & mail and their names published in The Australian on Wednesday 22nd December 2010. All entries will go into a national draw for nine (9) accommodation packages, each valued up to AUD$600, to be drawn at 10:00 AM on the second Monday of each month from April to December inclusive (see the table below for each date). Once an entry is received it will be included in each subsequent monthly draw.

10. The result of all draws is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
11. Prize includes:
a. 1,000,000 Choice Privileges points deposited into the valid Choice Privileges membership account, which can be redeemed for free nights at a Choice hotel. The prize is valid for 2 years from the deposit of points into the member’s account. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable or redeemable for cash or any other goods.
b. Nine (9) accommodation packages at selected Choice hotel properties throughout Australia, each valued up to AUD$600. Prizes will be sought from hotels monthly and awarded to the winning entrant no more than one week after each draw. Winners will have up to twelve months to use their prize.
12. The maximum total value of the 1 Million Point Prize is AUD$5,600 and is based on the recommended retail value and the exchange rate at the time of printing. This equates to an average of 60 room nights redeemed at the lead-in Choice Privileges redemption level. The Promoter does not accept any responsibility for any variation in the value of a prize. The maximum value total for each monthly accommodation prize (nine to be given away in total) is $600 per prize and is based on the recommended retail value and the exchange rate at the time of printing.
13. The prizes do not include travel insurance, passports, visas, meals, ticket taxes or charges, ground transportation, additional accommodation (except where stated) or any other costs of a personal nature not stated. Compliance with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the winner.
14. Each prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if the winner is unable to use the prize as stated. The prizes are not exchangeable or redeemable for cash or other goods or services.
15. The Promoter, its respective related bodies corporate, officers, employees and agents will not be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury whatsoever (including but not limited to direct, indirect or consequential loss) suffered or sustained in connection with this promotion, the promotion of this promotion or the use of any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
16. The Promoter reserves the right to redraw in the event of an Eligible Entrant being unable to satisfy these terms and conditions or forfeiting or not claiming a prize. If a prize remains forfeited or unclaimed as at 17th March 2011, the Promoter will hold a second chance draw at 10.00am on the 21 March 2011 at the offices of Choice Hotels Australasia Pty Ltd, 150 Jolimont Road, East Melbourne, VIC, 3002, Victoria, Australia. Subject to any written direction given under applicable law and any state regulations pertaining to the above.
17. Econo Lodge™, Comfort™, Quality™, Clarion® and associated logos are registered trademarks and used under license from Choice Hotels International Inc.
18. This promotion is subject to the Promoter’s Privacy Policy set out in the Annexure to these terms and conditions. Entry details remain the property of the Promoter and will be used for electronic direct marketing purposes by Choice Hotels Australasia. Without limiting the generality of the attached Privacy Policy, the name and photograph of the winner may be used to comply with the law in the conduct of this promotion and for promotional purposes.
19. This promotion and all related prize draws have been approved by the relevant state gambling/gaming licensing authorities in NSW (LTPS/10/01815), VIC (10/793), ACT (TP 10/00891.1) and SA (T10/487).

The type of personal information collected by Choice Hotels Australasia from its customers depends on the type of transaction you are undertaking with us. If you are making a reservation then only the information required to effect and confirms the reservation will be collected.
Choice Hotels Australasia collects personal information in various ways, including: when you are making a booking through our centralized reservations system, through the Global Distribution System (GDS) or through our website.
To properties within the Choice Hotels Australasia system; To credit card companies for payment of accounts; To outsourced service providers including: Mailing system companies; Reward program administration companies; Information technology service companies; To your authorised representatives or legal advisers; To our professional advisers, including accountants, auditors and lawyers; To government and regulatory authorities and other organizations, as required by law; To our related companies. Choice Hotels Australasia requires any outsourced service provider to operate within the National Privacy Principles.
The Choice Hotels Australasia website does not use cookies. Information collected when you use the site and/or clicking on an Advertising banner or tile is non-personally identifiable information. Non-personally-identifiable information is defined as information that keeps you anonymous. No details (such as your name, address, phone number or email address) are collected. Non personally-identifiable information that is collected include the server your computer logged onto, your browser type, and whether you responded to an advertisement. It also includes (totally anonymously) such things as your entry and exit points to the site, the pages you looked at, how long you spent in the site, and a number of other statistics.
